Senior Buyer / Planner:

Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.  Audits current and potential suppliers to determine if they meet specified requirements, including FDA 21 CFR, Part 820, and ISO 13485:2003.  Implements purchase contracts and manages and cultivates long-term strategic relationships with suppliers.  Maintains timely control of orders.  Analyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date commodity is needed.  Works in partnership with Quality Assurance, Raw Materials, Production, Warehousing/Distribution, and Customer Service and Marketing  departments to see orders through to fulfillment.  Troubleshoots and actively and aggressively manages shortage, backorder, and quality issues until resolution is reached.  Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  APICS certification preferred.  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Express; SAP experience strongly preferred.   Please send a resume to susan.hunt@medical-action.com for consideration.
